The surfaces to be plastered must be clean, dry and free from dust. A new coat should not be applied until the previous one is dry. If needed, the surface should be carefully sanded and cleaned before applying a new plaster coat. Kiilto LM is a ready-mixed lightweight plaster. After long storing, stir before use. The product can be diluted with water, if needed. The plaster is applied with a steel trowel. The plaster can also be applied with a long haired roller, and then the surface is smoothed with a steel trowel.
When fixing reinforcing tapes, apply the plaster in joint and press the paper tape firmly in the plaster. Smooth the joint by applying a second plaster layer using a broader steel trowel. After drying the surface can be easily sanded.
When smoothing painted glass fibre wallpaper, apply first a plaster layer, then sand and add another thin plaster layer. This diminishes the risk of pinholes in paint.
