The Hygicult culture disk has a culture medium promoting the growth of microbes on both sides. The specific culture medium prevents other growth than yeasts and moulds on the substrate.

The ready-to-use product is pressed against the tested surface, specimen is brushed with a cotton swab, or immersed in liquid. The disk is incubated in room temperature or in an incubator.

Easy to take to the sampling site at any time of the day, because sampling does not require any advance preparations. The result can be read 1–5 days after sampling, depending on the incubation temperature.

Store Hygicult at room temperature, protected from light, draught and freezing. Expiry date and batch number are marked on the package.
A specimen is collected by pressing the Hygicult disk directly against the tested surface, by transferring the specimen to the culture medium with a cotton swab or dipping the disk in a fluid.
The disk is incubated at room temperature for three days or at +35–37°C for one day. The result is read by comparing the growth density with a model chart.
Hygicult has no adverse effects on the tested site; the sampling site can be used normally also after sampling.
Review the instructions for use in the package carefully.
Do not use the product if
- there are colour changes or drying in the culture medium
- the culture medium has separated from the disk
- there is microbial growth in the culture medium
The growth should not be touch because colonies growing on the culture medium may be infective.
